Communications Manager

This is a full-time position located in our Fairview Heights, IL administrative offices. This position reports directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer and supports program and service leaders throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

. Responsible for managing and directing an integrated communications strategy that articulates the purpose, vision, mission and values of Hoyleton; leads the development of a compelling brand story;

. Leads the exploration, identification and prioritization of key stakeholder groups critical to Hoyleton's ongoing success and then develops and directs appropriate messages to each group;

. Translates the agency's strategic priorities into an effective and impactful comprehensive communications plan that includes specific tactics and measurements;

. Coordinates all aspects of print, online, web, and other marketing materials by providing conceptual direction, graphic design, layout, and photography; responsible for the development and implementation of a consistent visual design and voice in all Hoyleton communications;

. Serves all Hoyleton programs and services as their communications resource, providing strategic, creative and timely solutions to best meet their unique program needs;

. Responsible for all communications that support Hoyleton events and fund development activities, working closely with other organization leaders in these respective areas;

. Plans and manages a robust social media presence for Hoyleton; responsible for social media channel strategies and maintenance;

. Develops and oversees the Hoyleton website to assure timeliness of content, updates and, responsible to maximize search engine optimization;

. Leads the public relations/media relations efforts of Hoyleton through the writing and distribution of Hoyleton news and the development and maintenance of the media distribution database;

. Maintains relationships with outside creative partners and other service providers;

. Participates in Community Outreach initiatives, as needed;

. Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience

 

. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Strategic Communications, Convergence Journalism;

. A minimum of five years of marketing communications leadership experience;

. Nonprofit experience a plus.

 

Skills and Abilities

 

. Must have an understanding of and capacity to work with individuals of diverse racial, ethnic, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds;

. Excellent proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite and/or other software, as needed; knowledge of Raiser's Edge and HeyOrca highly desired;

. Effective writing and presentation skills;

. Comfortable in team-first environment; encourages others

. Organized and can manage multiple projects at once;

. DCFS/CANTS Clearance
